Subtitles do not seek

Description

When using the subtitles filter, the subtitle doesn't seek.
For example using the following cmd:

ffmpeg -ss 100 -i input.mkv -vf subtitles=input.srt -c:a ac3 -c:v mpeg2video output.mpeg

The video and audio will skip 100 seconds like normal, but the subtitles will start from the beginning.

Please provide your failing command line together with the complete, uncut console output to make this a valid ticket.

Hi cehoyos, thanks for the quick reply :) Here's the complete output:

ffmpeg -ss 100 -i input.mp4 -vf "subtitles=input.srt" -an -f mpeg2video output.mpeg

I've tried it with a few different files (mp4 and mkv, all with srt subtitles) and got the same result each time.
If there's any more info that would be helpful please let me know :)

I can attach some files to test if it would make it easier?

Isn't this a dup of #2067?

comment:6 by SubJunk, 12 years ago

Yes it seems like it is a dupe, although it seems more like a defect than an enhancement to me. Is there a way I can specify an amount of the subtitle to skip separately?
