Transcoding MOV file from Rhozet Carbon Server creates video with double duration (needs edit list duration support)

Description
Summary of the bug:
Using ffmpeg to transcode a MOV file produced/exported by Rhozet Carbon Server results in an MP4 with double the expected duration.
The video file produced plays back fine but includes an additional 4:14 of black screen and no audio for a total duration of 8:28. When watching the debug output, ffmpeg seems to hang on the final frame of the video and then produces an extra 4:14 worth of blank frames after a few minutes before exiting cleanly.
We received permission from our customer to use this video as part of this bug report but request that it not be used for anything else.

The output video probably looks like crap, because your command line don't specify a bitrate.
In general, a sample is a good idea, but I personally won't download big videos like this. There is no way to know what the content is.
Please show us the complete and uncut output from:

We normally specify bitrate and a bunch of other options, I submitted the bug with the minimal command-line options needed to reproduce.
I don't have a way of trimming down this particular file and still reproducing the bug.
The content of the video is an elderly woman discussing Osteoporosis.

Nothing stands out as being obviously wrong in ffmpeg-20120628-153337.log.
How many video frames are coded if you suppress the audio?

I do not have access to the software or the EULA, we only receive the video files from our customers. The most I can find is: http://www.rhozet.com/legal.html and http://www.rhozet.com/privacy.html

My guess is that the two most likely reasons for the behavior you describe is:
1) the audio stream is longer than you think
2) ffmpeg has internally miscalculated the length of the video stream
If you want to narrow down the issue, you should run the requested experiment.

Using "ffmpeg -i infile.mov -an out.mp4" results in the same number of frames and the same video duration.

Using "ffmpeg -i infile.mov -an out.mp4" results in the same number of frames and the same video duration.
That result rules out a too-long audio stream. Seems like this file triggers a real bug with the internal calculation of video stream length.
Until there is a fix, the only workaround I can think of is for you to tell ffmpeg to stop transcoding after a specific number of frames:
ffmpeg -i infile.mov -vframes 6360 out.mp4
